Senior Fullstack & Cloud Engineer

About the role

Huru is seeking a Senior Fullstack & Cloud Engineer to become the first internal hire responsible for backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and deployment processes. Working remotely with regular visits to Tetbury, you will help scale the company’s research business, strengthen its cloud platform, and support the launch of its medical device in the US.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services primarily using Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Develop and evolve AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure, including IAM, EKS, RDS, EC2, ECR, S3, and CloudFront.
• Improve deployment pipelines, monitoring, logging, reliability, and support processes.
• Manage secure data flows between devices, apps, cloud services, and internal systems.
• Support databases, APIs, integrations, and internal tools.
• Collaborate with external developers and cloud engineers while gradually increasing in‑house technical ownership.
• Define engineering standards for architecture, documentation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a fast‑moving startup environment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend and/or cloud focus.
• Proven expertise in Node.js development and building React applications.
• Solid experience with Python when needed.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL databases.
• Extensive practical knowledge of AWS services and Kubernetes container orchestration.
• Familiarity with secure engineering practices, including access control, secrets management, encryption, and handling of sensitive data.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions.
