Senior Game Evaluation Specialist

About the role

Tencent Games, a global platform for game development, operations and publishing founded in 2003, is hiring a Senior Game Evaluation Specialist within its Game Research Center (GRC). The GRC focuses on game industry study, game analysis, game design research, data analysis and game development support, and is looking for people who love games and understand the challenging global market.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate game projects in the European market, assessing product quality, studio capabilities and competitive positioning, and deliver high-quality analytical reports
• Apply deep expertise in core European game genres, especially FPS, to independently assess a title's strengths and challenges at any stage of development
• Track and cover key partner projects through their full cycle, giving professional input and recommendations tailored to each stage
• Represent the team at major industry events and external engagements, building relationships with overseas developers and publishers
• Deliver genre insights and competitive landscape analyses from market and product perspectives to inform the team's decisions

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in the games industry, in game development, production, design or publishing evaluation across console, PC or mobile platforms; experience in the European or broader Western market strongly preferred
• Deep expertise in key European game genres, with specialist knowledge of shooters and the ability to assess core product challenges across a project lifecycle
• Excellent report writing and analytical skills, able to own the full pipeline from information gathering to actionable conclusions
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and project coordination, in a fast-paced, multi-track environment
• English as the primary working language; willingness to travel for overseas business trips and industry events is required
