Senior Group Accountant – 6‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

We are partnering with a leading private equity fund to secure a technically strong Senior Group Accountant on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. The role supports the Group Finance team during a busy reporting cycle, focusing on consolidation, IFRS reporting and audit liaison.

Key responsibilities

• Support the group consolidation process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Develop and maintain offline Excel‑based consolidation models to validate system outputs.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between consolidation systems and offline models.
• Review financial statements and schedules for compliance with IFRS reporting requirements.
• Identify reporting gaps or disclosure issues and recommend adjustments.
• Prepare audit‑ready documentation and coordinate with external auditors.
• Draft technical accounting memos on complex areas such as impairment, reserves and IFRS 16 lease accounting.
• Reconcile local GAAP to IFRS across group entities.
• Provide ad‑hoc reporting, analysis and process‑improvement support to the wider finance team.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or strong equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in group reporting and consolidations, preferably within financial services, investment management, private equity or professional services.
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Advanced Excel skills with ability to build and maintain robust financial models.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
