Senior Group Financial Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a respected international group based in the North East. As a Senior Group Financial Accountant you will join the central finance team, acting as a technical specialist and supporting the Head of Financial Control & Compliance. The role offers high‑visibility exposure to senior finance leaders, auditors, advisors and multiple international entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation of group consolidations, statutory accounts and entity‑level reporting under IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Ensure timely and compliant statutory filings across several jurisdictions and support shareholder and lender reporting.
• Act as day‑to‑day lead for external audits, coordinating information flow and driving efficient completion.
• Review monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations, maintain internal controls and support regulatory reporting.
• Assist group tax compliance, transfer pricing, inter‑company reporting and treasury activities including FX reporting and covenant monitoring.
• Contribute to pension reporting and governance as required.
• Drive process improvements, automation and finance transformation projects such as ERP implementation and system upgrades.
• Provide technical guidance to finance colleagues, support senior leadership with analysis and coach junior team members.

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Proven experience in group reporting, statutory accounting and audit coordination.
• Experience working in a multi‑entity, fast‑paced environment.
