Senior Housekeeper

About the role

As a Senior Housekeeper at the Primrose Croft Care Home in Cambridge you will lead a dedicated housekeeping team to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents. You will supervise daily cleaning and laundry duties while supporting staff and engaging with residents to promote dignity and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support the housekeeping team, ensuring high‑standard cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas.
• Plan and organise staff rotas, taking holidays into account and guaranteeing adequate coverage, including alternate weekends.
• Carry out deep‑cleaning tasks on a scheduled basis, covering floors, soft furnishings, fixtures, windows and walls.
• Order cleaning supplies and ensure equipment is used safely and maintained in good condition.
• Comply with COSHH and infection‑control regulations.
• Participate in meaningful activities with residents, promoting choice, dignity and respect.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a housekeeping role is desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of COSHH and infection‑control procedures.
• Experience in planning staff rotas and ordering supplies.
