Senior HR Advisor

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position offers an experienced HR professional the chance to work closely with managers across a well‑established charity, delivering practical HR advice throughout the employee lifecycle and contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance on employee relations matters, including performance, absence and conduct issues.
• Support recruitment activities and help managers attract and appoint high‑quality talent.
• Coach managers on effective people‑management practices.
• Assist with workforce planning and organisational development initiatives.
• Contribute to employee engagement, wellbeing and culture programmes.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
• Analyse HR data and reporting to identify trends and support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Advisor or Senior HR Advisor.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a range of employee‑relations cases.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, able to work both independently and collaboratively.
• CIPD qualification (or progressing towards it) is desirable.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of UK employment law.
• Experience with employee‑relations case management.
• Ability to interpret and apply HR policies.
