Senior HR Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to lead the HR function for a family‑owned, multi‑site retailer based in Slough. Working closely with the Commercial Director and senior leadership team, you will shape and deliver a people strategy that drives commercial success while upholding our values.

Key responsibilities

• Manage HR‑related costs and ensure the function operates within agreed budgets.
• Provide a professional, credible, and consistent HR service that balances business needs with fair employee treatment.
• Develop and maintain a high‑performing HR team and support a motivated, engaged workforce.
• Oversee HR operations, including legal and policy compliance, administration, systems, reporting, and broader HR activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior HR role, preferably within a multi‑site, sales‑led retail environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop an HR team.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidance and employee‑relations best practice.
• Experience advising senior leaders on complex people matters such as disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, performance, restructuring and organisational change.
• Commercial judgement to balance people, legal, operational and financial considerations.
