Senior Hydrologist / Flood Modeller

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Hydrologist / Flood Modeller to join a specialist consultancy team in Hemel Hempstead. You will play a pivotal part in delivering flood risk and hydrology advice for residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across the UK, working in a collaborative and technically focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies and Environmental Impact Assessment chapters.
• Support concept and detailed drainage design for development schemes.
• Deliver hydrological and hydraulic modelling for flood risk studies.
• Advise clients on flood policy, SuDS design and water management.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and client communications.
• Mentor and provide technical support to junior team members.
• Maintain awareness of current standards, legislation and best practice.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Senior Hydrologist / Flood Modeller within a consultancy.
• Strong background in FRAs, SuDS and hydrology reporting.
• Chartered status or clear progress toward chartership.
• Excellent communication, report writing and leadership abilities.
