Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a large education‑sector organisation that is investing heavily in its technology estate and digital transformation. The role bridges infrastructure, databases, enterprise applications and Azure DevOps, offering the chance to shape modern, cloud‑first solutions for thousands of users.

Key responsibilities

• Support and enhance enterprise applications and infrastructure platforms.
• Deliver Azure DevOps pipelines and automation initiatives.
• Administer and optimise SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Lead application upgrades, integrations, patching and performance improvements.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and 3rd‑line support across the IT function.

Required profile

• Background in Infrastructure, Application Support, Database Administration, Platform Engineering or Data Engineering.
• Experience working on large‑scale transformation projects.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and guide junior staff.

Required skills

• Azure cloud services.
• Azure DevOps.
• SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar enterprise applications).
• PowerShell scripting.
• Automation and CI/CD pipelines.
