Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Windows & Virtualisation)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team. This hands‑on role supports enterprise‑scale Windows, VMware, Azure and backup environments across a complex multi‑site estate, ensuring availability, security and performance of critical customer systems.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Windows Server patching lifecycle across a large enterprise estate.
• Manage Azure VM patching, backup and disaster‑recovery services.
• Administer VMware virtualisation environments and VM lifecycle activities.
• Support and remediate Veeam backup and recovery operations.
• Implement infrastructure changes and contribute to CAB processes.
• Resolve technical escalations and support major incident response.
• Participate in a shared on‑call rota.

Required profile

• Strong experience in infrastructure engineering, ideally within managed services.
• Proven expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Good Azure administration skills including VMs, networking, backup and patching.
• VMware vSphere administration experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise backup technologies such as Veeam.
• Knowledge of WSUS, SCCM and patch compliance processes.
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident‑management abilities.
