Senior IT System Specialist & Architect

About the role

We are looking for a senior IT System Specialist & Architect to join the Senior Infrastructure team of a large NHS Trust. The role combines strategic design and day‑to‑day operation of the Trust’s core digital infrastructure, ensuring it is resilient, secure and scalable to support patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, optimisation and management of the Trust’s core infrastructure estate.
• Deliver complex infrastructure projects within challenging timescales while meeting governance, risk and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Digital, clinical and partner teams to implement innovative solutions.
• Maintain high availability, performance and security of critical services.
• Mentor and develop a multi‑skilled technical team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior technical roles within large, complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of enterprise‑level infrastructure and security best practices.
• Ability to work both strategically and operationally.
