Senior Java Developer – Hybrid (Bromley/London)

About the role

Pontoon is seeking a senior Java developer to join its Global Markets technology team. The role is hybrid, based in Bromley with three days a week on‑site, and supports the Futures & Options and Collateral business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain critical micro‑services and portlets using Java/J2EE, JMS, Spring, JDBC and ORM technologies.
• Provide Level 3 production support and resolve complex issues.
• Collaborate with business owners, product teams and international colleagues in London, Singapore, India, New York and Chicago.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in enterprise Java development and micro‑service architectures.
• Strong problem‑analysis skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working across distributed teams.

Required skills

• Java, J2EE, JMS, Spring Framework, JDBC, Hibernate (or other Java ORM).
• Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible.
• Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift.
• Agile methodology and CI/CD practices.
