Senior Java Engineer – FX Options Risk

About the role

Citi is looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimise a mission‑critical, high‑throughput FX real‑time risk system. You will work closely with the FX Options Trading desk, turning business requirements into robust, low‑latency software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise critical FX real‑time risk infrastructure with a focus on performance, latency and availability.
• Drive technical deliverables, champion code quality, modern development practices and robust system design patterns.
• Provide architectural input and contribute to the technical strategy for the bank’s strategic risk platform.
• Collaborate with engineering partners to set design standards, conduct deep code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert for the FX Options Trading desk, translating quantitative requirements into software designs.
• Offer rapid troubleshooting and analysis for complex real‑time system behaviours or production incidents.
• Ensure solutions meet corporate security, scalability and stability standards.

Required profile

• Extensive development experience in enterprise Java within highly parallel, low‑latency or distributed environments.
• Proven ability to work on mission‑critical, high‑throughput systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to collaborate with front‑office stakeholders.
