Senior Lead Software Engineer – Electronic Trading Infrastructure

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to drive technology strategy for its Electronic Trading Services platforms. You will work closely with trading lines of business to deliver low‑latency, high‑performance solutions that meet critical business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technology and process implementations for compute infrastructure in a low‑latency trading environment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Define strategies for server hardware platforms, OS tuning, automation, and application lifecycle management.
• Act as design authority for the compute stack, including build, configuration, and log/metric aggregation.
• Engage with hardware and software vendors on road‑maps and next‑generation platform design.
• Provide governance for coding decisions, cost of ownership, and maintainability.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 10+ years of applied experience.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional technical teams and mentor talent.
• Experience acting as a product owner or manager for complex technology products.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and a collaborative culture.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of IPv4 networking, OSI model, unicast/broadcast/multicast, routing and network segregation.
• Extensive experience with configuration management tools, preferably Chef or Ansible.
• Practical cloud‑native experience.
• Expertise in server hardware platforms, OS tuning, automation, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of build and configuration management, log aggregation and metric collection.
