Senior Learning Care Support Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Learning Care Support Assistant to join our team in Hayes. The role involves providing high‑quality one‑to‑one and group support to learners with a wide range of additional needs within a further education setting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct, small‑group and whole‑class support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Assess, recommend and monitor appropriate support, creating and updating Individual Care Plans and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with the Specialist Medical Coordinator and teaching staff to implement tailored support strategies.
• Lead and develop a team of Learning Support Assistants, including appraisals and observations.
• Maintain rigorous safeguarding standards and ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications in manual handling, first aid and safe medication administration.
• Experience supporting ELD, LLD and PMLD learners and assessing individual needs.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and SEND legislation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
