Senior Lifting Equipment Inspector

About the role
Perform thorough examinations of cranes and lifting equipment in line with legislative standards, company procedures and client requirements. The Senior Lifting Equipment Inspector leads inspection scopes and supervises a team of less‑experienced inspectors in both onshore and offshore environments.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect and conduct thorough examinations of lifting equipment according to statutory requirements, Oceaneering procedures and client specifications.
- Make inspection decisions within the limits of competence and communicate results to client focal points and onshore management.
- Produce clear, concise reports detailing methods, findings, limitations and test restrictions.
- Meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities and provide feedback for continuous improvement of C&L processes.
- Train, mentor and supervise less‑experienced inspectors, supporting on‑site monitoring and development.
- Support HSE audits, incident investigations and the closure of corrective actions.
- Carry out task‑based risk assessments, deliver toolbox talks and ensure safe work areas.
- Verify equipment labeling and condition prior to packing and return.
Required profile
- Minimum five years’ experience in lifting equipment examination scopes.
- OGUK Medical, Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST), BOSIET and CAEBS certifications.
- LEEA Foundation Course and IRATA Rope Access Level 1 (higher levels desirable).
- Flexible, team‑player attitude with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio).
Required skills
- Proficiency with Motion Kinetic inspection software.
- Competence in wire‑rope socketing and crane inspection techniques.
- Experience with non‑destructive testing methods such as ECI, UT and DPI.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio).
