Senior Linux IAM Engineer

About the role

The Senior Linux IAM Engineer will lead identity, authentication and privileged‑access management across the Registers of Scotland's Linux estate. Working in a relaxed hybrid environment, you will influence security, infrastructure and cloud teams to adopt least‑privilege models, improve automation and protect critical public services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage Linux identity and authentication services on RHEL and Ubuntu platforms, including Red Hat Identity Management (IdM).
• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Privileged Access Management (PAM) controls, such as policy enforcement, just‑in‑time access and least‑privilege models.
• Integrate security tooling and increase automation maturity across the Linux estate.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure and cloud teams to shape architecture and protect critical services.
• Provide expert guidance and act as a trusted advisor on Linux IAM and PAM topics.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior Linux IAM/PAM engineer.
• Deep knowledge of Linux identity, authentication and privileged‑access concepts.
• Strong track record of delivering secure, automated solutions in complex environments.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and influence technical decisions.
