About the role

CacheFly is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join its global CDN operations on a contract basis. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing Linux‑based infrastructure that powers low‑latency content delivery for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

Monitor and maintain virtual and physical Linux servers to ensure high performance and availability.
Deploy new systems and automate provisioning using tools such as Ansible.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system, network, and CDN issues.
Own specific CDN components, guaranteeing optimal performance and uptime.
Improve documentation, processes, and knowledge transfer across teams.
Drive automation and DevOps practices with configuration‑management tools.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with architects on system enhancements.

Required profile

Availability for weekday shifts and occasional weekend coverage.
Proven experience with CDN environments.
Strong problem‑solving ability and independent work style.
Excellent communication and customer‑service focus.

Required skills

Expert‑level Linux administration (kernel, services, drivers).
Varnish, Nginx, HAProxy, bird/quagga, Linux firewalls.
Network and routing protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, tunneling.
Deep understanding of HTTP and related troubleshooting.
Automation tools: Ansible, Docker.
Monitoring and observability: Grafana.
Incident management: PagerDuty, Zendesk.
Collaboration platforms: Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Notion, Basecamp.
Security concepts such as WAF and DDoS mitigation (preferred).
