Senior Low Latency Rust Engineer

About the role

Citi is looking for a senior engineer to design and maintain ultra‑low latency trading systems. You will work within the High Performance Architectures (HPA) team in London, building micro‑service based, event‑sourced applications that process market data in micro‑second timeframes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise Rust and Java code for low‑latency e‑trading platforms.
• Build and maintain micro‑services on an in‑house low‑latency framework.
• Implement market‑data replay, back‑testing and simulation utilities.
• Lead integration of new functions, deploy products and enhance existing processes.
• Analyse complex business and system processes to define high‑performance solutions.
• Collaborate with end‑users and other technology teams to modernise applications across Citi.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in low‑latency systems development.
• Proven ability to lead technical design and integration efforts.
• Strong analytical skills to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
• Experience working in fast‑paced, algorithmic trading environments.
