Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Checkout.com’s Disputes ML team, you will help build a brand‑new, ML‑driven dispute optimisation suite. This role offers the chance to shape an emerging area, work alongside top‑tier engineers and deliver impact on millions of disputes worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate systems for training, deploying and monitoring machine‑learning models at scale within the Disputes platform.
• Develop and optimise data pipelines and backend services to process dispute and payment data in real time.
• Scale and maintain a feature store for both online and offline use‑cases.
• Own end‑to‑end feature delivery, from requirement refinement through data pipeline construction, model training, troubleshooting and production deployment.
• Transform raw data into production‑ready features that feed dispute decisioning.
• Collaborate with platform and backend engineers to integrate models seamlessly.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as an MLOps or Machine Learning Engineer.
• Strong ability to write clear, production‑ready Python code.
• Hands‑on experience with production ML models and standard MLOps practices.
• Proven track record in monitoring and observability of production systems.
• Experience training and operating models on Databricks.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based development on AWS and Azure.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
