Senior Management Accountant (Interim)

About the role

We are partnering with a growing construction business to recruit an experienced Interim Senior Management Accountant. The role sits at the heart of the finance team, taking ownership of the monthly reporting cycle and supporting acquisition activities while driving continuous improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full monthly management reporting process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and insightful analysis.
• Lead audit support, particularly for acquisitions and integration, while maintaining robust financial controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function to enhance efficiency and reporting quality.
• Oversee Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) reporting to provide clear project visibility.
• Business partner with operational teams, delivering robust financial analysis, challenging performance and supporting decision‑making.
• Provide clear, actionable financial information to senior leadership and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Required profile

• ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified accountant.
• Extensive experience in a SME management accounting role, including process and system improvements.
• Confident communicator capable of influencing stakeholders across the business.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
