Senior Manager, Partnerships

About the role

The Senior Manager, Partnerships will act as the strategic bridge between Root Capital’s program teams and institutional funders, primarily public‑sector agencies and financial institutions. This role is central to cultivating partnerships that advance the organization’s impact mission while meeting funder priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary relationship manager for a portfolio of institutional funders and funding intermediaries, overseeing cultivation, communications, proposals, reporting, stewardship, and renewals.
• Develop and maintain a robust fundraising pipeline focused on public‑sector grantmakers and multilateral agencies, while also managing select private‑sector partners.
• Design, pitch, and secure new funding opportunities, aiming for six‑ and seven‑figure commitments that contribute to annual fundraising targets.
• Collaborate with programmatic teams to align partnership proposals with Root Capital’s impact objectives and funder priorities.
• Prepare and deliver high‑quality proposals, presentations, and reports for existing and prospective partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in institutional fundraising, partnership development, or related roles within impact investing, development finance, or non‑profit sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex relationships with public‑sector agencies, multilateral institutions, and private foundations.
• Strong track record of securing multi‑year, high‑value funding commitments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and reports.
• Strategic mindset and ability to work cross‑functionally with program teams.
