Senior Manager, Underwriting Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead our international underwriting operations function. This newly created role will own the end‑to‑end operational work for delegated authority programmes, from due‑diligence and onboarding to renewal and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational due‑diligence for new delegated authority and programme opportunities.
• Coordinate onboarding activities across underwriting, operations, finance, actuarial, claims, legal, compliance, technology and data teams.
• Run meetings with external insurance partners to assess operational infrastructure, controls and reporting capabilities.
• Oversee technical setup of new programmes, including bordereaux specifications, data transfer, ingestion, testing and reporting.
• Act as the principal contact for new partners throughout implementation and the initial post‑launch period.
• Manage operational input into binder and programme renewals.
• Prepare assessments, recommendations and updates for senior stakeholders and governance committees.
• Monitor onboarding timelines, data quality, processing exceptions and other performance measures.
• Support improvements to underwriting systems, workflow tools, management information and reporting.
• Develop clearer procedures, controls and hand‑over arrangements between underwriting and operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve scalability, partner experience and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Experience in commercial insurance operations, preferably within the London Market.
• Background in delegated authority, programme business or specialty insurance environments.
• Experience working with MGAs, MGUs, coverholders or delegated insurance programmes.
• Strong knowledge of bordereaux and programme onboarding processes.
