Senior Material Controller – Export

About the role

Take ownership of international shipments and keep export orders moving smoothly in a busy Stevenage distribution centre. You will work hands‑on with customers, couriers, freight forwarders and internal teams to ensure goods are packed, documented and dispatched accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing accurate export paperwork, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and carrier documents.
• Checking orders, Incoterms, HS codes, EORI details and customer requirements before release.
• Booking shipments with approved couriers and freight forwarders and producing clear labels and shipping instructions.
• Packing goods for export while maintaining product integrity and safe working practices.
• Identifying compliance risks such as licences, sanctions, dangerous goods and resolving customs queries.

Required profile

• Proven experience in export, international shipping, freight forwarding or customs.
• Strong knowledge of UK export procedures, Incoterms, HS/commodity codes, EORI and documentation.
• Awareness of export controls, sanctions, licensing and dangerous‑goods handling.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work calmly under changing priorities.
