Senior Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a fast‑growing, sustainability‑focused building services consultancy in Cambridge. The role is hybrid, allowing you to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while delivering innovative mechanical and electrical solutions across a variety of sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from concept to completion.
• Conduct surveys, feasibility studies and produce detailed designs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Review and approve drawings, perform site inspections and manage contract administration.
• Oversee project programmes, ensuring quality standards and technical delivery.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and wider design teams to achieve project goals.

Required profile

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 3‑5+ years of experience in building services design.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
