Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

IN2 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design on a variety of projects in Belfast. You will work from concept through delivery, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams while ensuring high‑quality, sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept to delivery for commercial, healthcare, industrial, educational and residential projects.
• Collaborate with clients, project directors and multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and deliverables.
• Prepare cost reports, manage project budgets and verify installations against designs.
• Attend site meetings, conduct inspections and review contractors’ technical submittals.
• Produce detailed site reports, project status updates and BCAR inspection plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing across the team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years consultancy‑based design experience on commercial MEP projects.
• Level 8 degree in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering (recognised for chartership).
• Chartered Engineer status or ability to achieve chartership within 18 months.
• Strong report writing and Microsoft Office proficiency.
