Senior Mechanical Engineer – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading facilities management organisation in Leeds. The role involves overseeing maintenance, repair, testing and inspection of building mechanical and electrical services, ensuring compliance with standards and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repairs, testing and inspection of building mechanical and electrical services, plant and equipment.
• Ensure work follows safe practices and statutory, NHS, Trust and company guidelines.
• Provide cover for absent colleagues to maintain service continuity.
• Maintain accurate service records and produce reports for the line manager.
• Perform minor installation, upgrades and adaptations as required.
• Assist other trades with maintenance and installation tasks.
• Undertake training and act as Competent or Authorised Person where appointed.
• Liaise with other healthcare projects and perform any other duties appropriate to grade.

Required profile

• Completed a mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum three years of post‑apprenticeship experience in mechanical services.
• Experience in maintenance, repair and inspection of building services.
• Commercial experience in a healthcare environment is a plus.
• Ability to work safely and follow statutory guidelines.
