Senior Mechanical Engineer – Pitstone (On-site)

About the role

This 12‑month contract offers a senior, hands‑on Mechanical Engineer the chance to shape outcomes in a safety‑critical, technically advanced environment. Based on‑site in Pitstone, you will work at the heart of production, quality and engineering decision‑making, delivering Through Life Support value.

Key responsibilities

• Represent engineering at Level 1 & 2 QRQC meetings, providing clear technical direction.
• Collaborate with OE and MRO teams to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions and documentation.
• Support production teams to meet build schedules by resolving engineering issues quickly.
• Lead investigations, perform root‑cause analysis and implement robust corrective actions.
• Translate customer and internal requirements into robust mechanical designs.
• Apply calculations, analysis and validation tools to verify and optimise solutions for manufacture, cost and quality.
• Author, review and approve engineering documentation throughout the through‑life support phase.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong background designing complex electromechanical products in highly regulated industries.
• Proven ability to analyse complex problems and deliver practical solutions.
• Experience working at the intersection of engineering, production, quality and suppliers.
