Senior Mental Health Support Worker – Littlemore

About the role
Response is seeking a Senior Mental Health Support Worker to join the team at Rowan House in Littlemore. The role involves leading shifts, managing medication and supporting adults with acute mental health needs. You will work alongside the Adult Mental Health Team to deliver person‑centred care.
Key responsibilities
- Lead shifts, delegating daily tasks and managing incidents, safeguarding and complaints in the manager’s absence.
- Oversee medication management and ensure health & safety compliance for residents and the service.
- Mentor and support new support workers, delivering induction, Care Certificate and medication training.
- Provide person‑centred support to clients with serious mental illness, including co‑existing physical health, neurodiversity, substance use and cognitive impairment.
- Maintain a one‑team approach, respond to service phone queries and support the on‑call rota for community support.
Required profile
- Experience leading a support team in a mental health or supported‑living setting.
- Knowledge of medication administration, health & safety and safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to mentor staff and deliver training, including the Care Certificate.
- Commitment to person‑centred care for adults with complex mental health needs.
Required skills
What we offer
- Salary £28,938 – £32,214 per annum (depending on experience).
- 37‑hour week, Monday‑Sunday inclusive of bank holidays, with morning, evening and weekend shifts.
