Senior MEP Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Senior MEP Project Manager to lead the delivery of datacentre projects for a fast‑growing physical datacentre organisation. The role covers the full project lifecycle from concept through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand‑over, ensuring the facility meets the highest standards of reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of datacentre and critical‑environment projects, managing design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
• Coordinate internal resources, external contractors, design teams, commissioning agents and equipment suppliers.
• Maintain project schedules, budgets (up to £5 m for BAU projects and larger for capital projects), risk registers and quality controls.
• Develop and enforce change‑management procedures, RAMS reviews, MOP/SOP documentation and health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Conduct technical site surveys, inspections and audits of MEP equipment, ensuring adherence to codes and standards.
• Provide regular communication, progress updates and stakeholder reviews throughout the project.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in datacentre or other critical environments (e.g., NHS, pharma).
• Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to manage multi‑million‑pound projects.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams and external vendors.
• Excellent understanding of MEP systems and critical‑facility equipment.
