Senior Midday Supervisor – Holmer Green First School

About the role

We are seeking a caring, organised and enthusiastic Senior Midday Supervisor to lead the Midday Supervisor team at Holmer Green First School and Pre‑School. The role involves ensuring a safe, happy and positive lunchtime experience for pupils, maintaining high standards of behaviour on the playground, and supporting staff during the lunch period.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and coordinate the Midday Supervisor team during the lunch hour.
• Be on playground duty, ensuring the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all pupils.
• Promote positive behaviour and help children develop social skills and friendships.
• Organise and oversee inclusive playground activities, including wet‑play arrangements when required.
• Make operational decisions about lunchtime provision and respond to any incidents.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to reflect classroom behaviour expectations on the playground.

Required profile

• Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to make quick, sensible decisions during the lunch period.
• Commitment to promoting inclusion, wellbeing and a positive environment.
• Availability to work Monday‑Friday, 11:45 am‑1:30 pm, term‑time only.
