About the role

Join the Neonatal Nursing Unit (NNU) at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust as a Senior Neonatal Nurse (Band 6). This role offers full training and support, enabling you to develop clinical expertise, progress towards leadership, and make a meaningful impact on the care of newborns and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and efficient nursing care across intensive, high‑dependency, and special‑care levels.
• Assist in managing the department’s resources and contribute to continuous improvement through research and evidence‑based practice.
• Undertake delegated responsibility for the unit in the absence of NNU Sisters and the Unit Manager.
• Deliver family‑centred care, advocating for infants and supporting families with information and services.
• Ensure accurate documentation of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.

Required profile

• Motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Neonatal Nurse; senior Band 5 nurses ready to progress are also welcome.
• Leadership experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Willingness to relocate to Cornwall and work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to delivering evidence‑based, high‑quality neonatal care.
