Senior .Net Back End Developer

About the role

Ascend Consulting is seeking a Senior Back End Developer to join its financial software team in North West London. You will work on in‑house financial management systems for leading retail and media brands, focusing on API and database layers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs using VB.NET and C#.
• Integrate APIs with SQL Server and SAP Business One backend tables.
• Write optimized SQL queries, stored procedures and indexing strategies.
• Monitor and improve API performance, scalability and reliability.
• Document APIs, database structures and back‑end infrastructure.
• Collaborate with SAP consultants, front‑end developers and DevOps engineers.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging and error handling.

Required profile

• 5+ years of back‑end development experience.
• Strong .NET expertise (C#, VB.NET) and solid understanding of Windows Forms.
• Proven ability to work in an agile, team‑oriented environment.
