Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with a reputable company just outside Leicester to hire a Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer. This hybrid role offers two days of remote work per week after the probation period.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain server, network, and storage solutions for clients.
• Provide 3rd‑line support and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
• Manage cloud and hybrid environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Monitor infrastructure performance and security, ensuring optimal operation.
• Lead infrastructure migrations and upgrades while minimizing downtime.
• Build strong client relationships, understand their needs, and deliver tailored solutions.
• Document technical processes and configurations for clarity and compliance.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in infrastructure engineering within complex IT environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and core infrastructure services.
• Strong hands‑on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Deep expertise in enterprise networking, including firewalls, routers, switches, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, and security principles.
• Solid experience with Microsoft Azure, especially hybrid network integrations.
• Experience implementing backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve critical network and infrastructure issues under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMware) are highly desirable.
