Senior Night Carer – Residential Care Home

About the role

As a Senior Night Carer in a Barchester residential care home, you will provide high‑quality, person‑centred care to residents during the night shift. You will lead a team of care staff, ensuring a safe, warm and welcoming environment while supporting residents' health and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise night‑shift care staff, delivering training and delegating duties.
• Administer and order medication, maintain accurate medication records.
• Review, update and monitor resident care plans and risk assessments.
• Liaise with GPs, district nursing teams and families to coordinate care.
• Promote dignity, respect and individual preferences of each resident.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care.
• Previous experience in a residential care setting.
• Proven team‑leadership abilities and sound decision‑making.
• Compassionate, warm‑hearted and committed to person‑centred care.

Required skills

• Medication administration and ordering.
• Care plan development and risk assessment.
• Effective communication with healthcare professionals and families.
