Senior Nurse – Care Home (Full/Part Time)

About the role

As a Senior Nurse (General) in a Barchester care home you will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care for residents with diverse mental and physical needs. You will act as a hands‑on clinical leader, ensuring safe practice, effective medication administration and robust safeguarding.

Key responsibilities

• Assess new residents, develop and review comprehensive care plans and risk assessments.
• Administer medicines in line with NMC regulations and oversee safe prescribing practices.
• Implement safeguarding policies and ensure compliance with DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Mentor and support nursing staff, providing clinical training and preceptorship for newly qualified nurses.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives to maintain and raise care standards.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration.
• Mentoring or supervision qualification.
• Proven experience in care planning, risk assessment and working with older adults.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (DoLs, MCA, Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines).
• Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving and resilience.
