Senior Nurse - Care Home

About the role

As a Senior Nurse (General) in a Barchester care home you will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care for residents with diverse mental and physical needs. You will act as a hands‑on clinical leader, ensuring a safe, supportive environment while making critical clinical decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversee day‑to‑day nursing care.
• Assess new residents, develop care plans and conduct detailed risk assessments.
• Administer medicines and implement safeguarding policies in line with NMC regulations.
• Mentor and support nursing staff, ensuring they receive appropriate training.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory frameworks such as DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Drive continuous improvement to achieve high standards of quality care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration.
• Mentoring or supervision qualification.
• Proven experience creating care plans and detailed risk assessments.
• Strong knowledge of DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Experience working with older adults and acting as a clinical mentor.
• Dedicated, ambitious and resilient with a track record of delivering quality improvements.
