Senior Operational Resilience Lead – Contract

About the role

Oliver James is supporting a major financial services organisation to appoint a Senior Operational Resilience Lead on a six‑month contract. The role is hybrid, based in London (or Bristol), and focuses on strengthening the firm’s resilience framework, embedding resilience thinking, and meeting regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and enhance the Operational Resilience reporting framework, develop management information and metrics aligned to Important Business Services.
• Design and deliver a role‑based training and awareness programme for service owners, business leaders and technology teams.
• Define practical resilience‑by‑design principles and integrate them into change, architecture and delivery lifecycles.
• Assess the current tooling landscape, create a roadmap for future capabilities and collaborate on implementation planning.
• Partner with vulnerable‑customer teams to ensure Business Continuity Plans and impact tolerances address vulnerable customer needs.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in operational resilience within financial services.
• Proven ability to work across business and technology functions and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of regulatory expectations related to operational resilience.
• Analytical mindset with the capability to produce clear, actionable insights for leadership.
