Senior Paraplanner – Hybrid (Taunton)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join our established financial planning practice in Taunton. The role is highly technical, going beyond simple report writing to actively shaping client advice and supporting complex cases. You will work closely with Financial Planners and other team members in a hybrid model (three days in‑office, two days remote).

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Financial Planners to develop suitable financial planning strategies.
• Produce clear, technically accurate suitability reports and cash‑flow models.
• Research pensions, investments, protection and tax planning to support multi‑area advice.
• Review fact‑finds and risk profiles, identifying gaps before case progression.
• Provide technical input, challenge recommendations and support complex cases.
• Prepare documentation for new business and changes to existing arrangements.
• Liaise with clients, providers and colleagues to resolve technical queries.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure efficient case progression.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Paraplanner within a financial planning or wealth management business.
• CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent qualification.
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments and FCA requirements.
• Proven ability to produce detailed suitability reports for complex advice.
• Progress towards Chartered status is desirable but not essential.
