Senior Paraplanner – Independent FCA‑authorised firm

About the role

We are an independent, FCA‑authorised wealth advisory firm based in Cumbria, looking for an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join our growing team. You will provide high‑quality technical support to our financial planners and mentor junior paraplanners, handling complex casework with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare suitability and review reports, cash‑flow analysis and product research across pensions, investments, trusts and protection.
• Execute pension and investment switches (excluding DB) and manage trust‑based investment work.
• Maintain accurate, compliant client records on iO to FCA, GDPR and Consumer Duty standards.
• Support and develop junior paraplanners and the client‑services team.

Required profile

• 4+ years of paraplanning experience, preferably progressed from an administrator role within a wealth firm.
• Level 4 Diploma minimum, committed to CPD and working towards Chartered status.
• Experience with pension switches (non‑DB), investment switches and trust‑based investments.
• Strong team player, able to thrive in a close‑knit, quality‑focused environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with iO (Intelligent Office) for client record management.
• Experience using CashCalc for cash‑flow modelling.
• Familiarity with FE Analytics or comparable analytical tools.
• Knowledge of Voyant or equivalent investment research platforms.
