Senior Part‑Time Sales Assistant – Retail

About the role

Heron Foods is looking for a Senior Part‑Time Sales Assistant to join its Edgeley store in Stockport. Working 16 hours a week, you will support the daily operation of a busy discount grocery outlet while stepping in to cover management duties when required.

Key responsibilities

• Motivate and support the shop floor team to achieve sales and service targets.
• Deliver high‑standard customer service and resolve queries promptly.
• Maintain tidy, well‑stocked shelves and ensure the store presentation meets brand standards.
• Assist with stock deliveries, inventory checks and replenishment.
• Act as a keyholder, opening and closing the store and handling cash when managers are absent.

Required profile

• Friendly, approachable and professional demeanor.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment.
• Previous leadership experience in retail or hospitality, preferably with key‑holder responsibilities.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and take ownership of supervisory duties.

• No specific technical skills required.
