Senior Planning Manager

About the role

The Senior Planning Manager will join the Regions and Public Sector Construction business unit, working on‑site in Gloucestershire with regular visits to Birmingham. The role covers high‑value projects and bids ranging from £20m to over £300m, requiring strong programme leadership and proactive risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of project planning, programme and delivery strategy for both bids and live projects.
• Shape pre‑construction and construction methodology to maximise efficiency.
• Produce detailed project plans, programmes and Planning Reports in line with company procedures.
• Report progress against contract and delivery programmes to senior leadership.
• Analyse data and lessons learned to anticipate delays and propose mitigation actions.
• Maintain medium‑ and short‑term programmes and project control data.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in large or complex construction projects.
• In‑depth knowledge of the NEC form of contract and its practical application.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and communicate programme‑related matters clearly.
• Security clearance eligibility as the role is subject to clearance requirements.
