Senior Practice Accountant – £35k‑£50k

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Practice Accountant to join a well‑established chartered accountancy practice in South Manchester. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of clients while developing your technical expertise in tax, accounting and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file year‑end accounts, business tax returns and capital allowances for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders.
• Prepare and file self‑assessment tax returns and personal tax computations, including capital gains tax and R&D tax credit claims.
• Review periodic bookkeeping, VAT returns and management accounts for portfolio clients.
• Produce management information, performance analysis and financial projections.
• Advise clients on profitability, cash‑flow management and business efficiency, and help implement effective controls and systems.
• Assist in the preparation of business plans, budgets and valuations, and support clients in sourcing and negotiating finance.
• Manage your own client portfolio and support the development of junior staff.

Required profile

• AAT, ACCA or ACA qualified (or part‑qualified/QBE).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting or advisory role.
• Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation, VAT, capital allowances and R&D tax relief.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high‑quality advisory services.
