Senior Practice Accountant – £55k‑£65k (Hybrid)

About the role

This senior practice accountant position sits within a modern, innovative accountancy practice serving SME clients in Milton Keynes. Working closely with the Senior Manager, you will lead junior staff, manage client relationships and ensure high‑quality financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients across diverse industries.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Produce corporation tax computations and CT600 submissions.
• Generate management accounts, forecasts and financial reports.
• Review VAT returns and maintain compliance standards.
• Liaise with HMRC, Companies House, banks and other third parties.
• Mentor and review work of junior team members.
• Support workflow planning, team development and process improvement.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Proven ability to manage SME clients independently.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
