Senior Practice Accountant – Up to £65,000 (Hybrid)

About the role

This senior position sits within a modern, innovative accountancy practice serving SME clients across a range of industries. Working closely with the Senior Manager, you will lead client engagements, mentor junior staff, and ensure high‑quality financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, building strong relationships through proactive communication.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and submit CT600 returns.
• Produce management accounts, forecasts and financial reports.
• Review VAT returns and maintain compliance standards.
• Liaise with HMRC, Companies House, banks and other third parties.
• Oversee and mentor junior team members, reviewing their work and providing technical guidance.
• Support workflow planning, team development and identify process improvements.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice, managing SME clients independently.
• Proven experience overseeing junior staff and reviewing their work.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational abilities.
