Senior Practitioner – Breaking Barriers (Essex)

About the role
The Breaking Barriers Project supports children, young people and families affected by a parent’s imprisonment. As a Senior Practitioner you will deliver personalised, outcome‑focused support to help them stay connected, build resilience and achieve their potential.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments with parents, carers and partner agencies following referrals.
- Develop and agree individual outcomes for each child or young person.
- Provide one‑to‑one support in homes, schools, online and community settings.
- Coordinate multi‑agency packages of support that address complex needs, reduce risk and promote emotional wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records and report on progress against agreed outcomes.
Required profile
- Experienced practitioner confident in supporting children, young people and families.
- Organised, self‑motivated and passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable youth.
- UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across Essex.
- Willingness to work 35 hours per week on a permanent basis.
