Senior Product Cost Engineer – Cost Reduction & Value Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Product Cost Engineer to lead cost‑reduction and value‑engineering initiatives across our advanced mechanical and electrical products. The role is hands‑on, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply‑chain and quality teams to deliver design improvements that lower cost while maintaining safety, performance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement engineering changes that reduce product and component costs.
• Lead value‑engineering projects for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Create and maintain CAD models, detailed drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials.
• Design, modify and release engineering changes to improve manufacturability.
• Validate alternative components through testing, trials and analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to roll out changes into production.
• Manage engineering risks while ensuring product reliability, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience delivering design changes and cost‑reduction projects in a manufacturing or product‑development environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical components and manufacturing processes.
• Experience producing CAD models, drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials.
• Ability to validate engineering changes through testing and trials.
• Understanding of engineering risk, quality and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
