Senior Production Controller – 2‑3 Month Contract

About the role

We are looking for a senior‑level Production Controller to support a children’s publisher on a 2‑3 month contract starting in August. You will manage the end‑to‑end production pipeline for frontlist, backlist and co‑edition titles, ensuring timely commercial delivery while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage production schedules and monitor title progress across frontlist and backlist.
• Oversee delivery of multiple formats and projects, including co‑editions and competitions.
• Coordinate titles through testing stages and production checkpoints.
• Maintain quality and standards throughout the production process.
• Liaise with internal teams and global suppliers to keep delivery on track.

Required profile

• Highly organised and detail‑focused with a passion for children’s books.
• Senior‑level experience in physical book production.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
• Creative and proactive mindset.

Required skills

• Physical book production expertise.
• Knowledge of colour pre‑press processes.
• Familiarity with safety testing procedures (desirable).
• Experience with co‑edition or CO production (beneficial).
