Senior Production Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Production Manager to lead two food‑production halls for a leading privately‑owned food processor in Glasgow. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for delivering business value, maintaining high standards of quality, food safety and health & safety, and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Set clear standards and expectations for production teams.
• Drive performance in health & safety, food safety, product quality and customer specifications.
• Ensure process compliance, specification adherence and full traceability.
• Manage service levels, labour costs and resource planning.
• Lead structured meetings, communication and escalation processes.
• Develop team capability through performance management, succession planning, training and skills development.
• Oversee employee rotation, holidays and absence.
• Monitor and improve KPI performance, including yield, giveaway, labour and waste.
• Ensure correct use of systems and hardware such as Innova, Piranha and Shire.
• Promote consistent ways of working and continuous improvement across the operation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a food manufacturing facility to BRC standards.
• Significant leadership and people‑management experience.
• Excellent spoken and written English with strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Food Hygiene qualification equivalent to Level 3.
• HACCP certification.
