Senior Project Buyer

About the role

The Senior Project Buyer will lead procurement activities for key projects within an industrial and manufacturing environment. This permanent role offers the chance to influence cost‑effective purchasing and drive supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement for assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate favourable terms and contracts.
• Collaborate with internal departments to align purchasing strategies with project requirements.
• Set up and close supplier frame agreements with key suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality and delivery standards are met.
• Analyse market trends to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Prepare and present procurement reports to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven procurement experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
• Technical/project buying experience.
• Familiarity with the NEC Framework.
• CIPS qualification is ideal or willingness to work towards it.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build lasting supplier relationships.
